Okay I admit, I am active on Facebook. It's been about 3 years I think and the good thing about it was, I have been able to reconnect to family across the country as well as real friends. We can all now keep in touch - look at pictures and make comments on the day to day goings on. That's fun.

The part of Facebook that bugs me is when you post something controversial, everyone is quiet. No one will even "like it" for fear of being judged.

Have we all become so afraid to say what is on our mind? (provided we actually have something on our minds, other than sports, sex, and just plain nonsense) I'm afraid we are. Me too, at times! I mean, I am not afraid (I mean, what are they going to do to me?) I guess it's just revealing myself to too many people at the same time. Not all of my friends on Facebook are safe or share the same opinions as I do. Yet, as long as we don't get too controversial, then we're good to go. Get too outspoken and they will "un-friend" you and that would be a shame if you've enjoyed their online company for some time. So we clam up.

I'm tired of having these superficial "chats" with my Facebook friends, NEVER to discuss anything that might spark a debate. What is wrong with debating anymore?
