seed catalogs

Last year!
Today I ordered my seed catalog - a little late I confess. I have to get start planning our new garden. This year we're using one half of our lawn area in the backyard. Years prior, we've done global buckets and the square foot method. This year, it will be a combination of what works. We're still learning. This is a hard area for me since I did not grow up here and every spring/summer/fall is different. We have hard summers with temps that get as high as 110 and more. Our spring, can be quite cool and very wet. In the bay area, where I grew up I knew exactly what to plant and when. So it's been trial and error but I have to get it right this year. This is our food!

I like this company Baker Creek. I'll try and find some others. We want pure, non GMO seeds. Getting harder and harder to come by.

We're having beautiful weather - much like a classic Spring day - sunshine, blue skies and some wind (for kite flying - wait that is next month!)

  1. Good luck with your new garden!
