Spring Cleaning is coming early to my house

I guess I needed to post something on here - even though I haven't done any major decorating or planting. Spring Cleaning is what I have on my mind right now - especially since I have received boxes of stuff from my 29 yr old niece that passed away on Nov 18. Then my FIL passed away on Dec 13 and we just received all his stuff; most of which we either donated or gave to family members. If that is not enough stuff, I will be finally receiving my sister's stuff (she died in 2015) that my brother-in-law was saving for my niece, and now that she died, it's all mine. I'm trying to hold him off till February since we have a memorial we are trying to be scheduled soon for my FIL.

Oy Vey!

Our office is a mess. Our garage is a mess and that is even with getting rid of most of it. It is overwhelming.

So yeah, Spring Cleaning is going to get started a lot earlier than the Spring around here. Heck, I want to enjoy the spring, by planting and enjoying the outdoors - not CLEAN!

How about you? When do you do your spring cleaning? Or major seasonal cleaning?

  1. I guess you could say I have started spring cleaning as well. In the middle of a Canadian winter. Decluttering lead to cleaning other things. However I will leave walls and windows until spring arrives.

    God bless.

  2. I have never, ever done seasonal cleaning. I grew up in a home with a coal furnace, on a dirt road. Yes, lots of cleaning all the time. But now, in my home in the suburbs, I clean when things need to be cleaned. I have no schedule whatsoever.

    1. I seem to have an eternal clock that is seasonal. I know when it comes and I obey! LOL

  3. Oh my, I am sorry for all these losses in your life. And then for having to deal with all the 'stuff' they have left behind. I would be overwhelmed -- from your post, you sound quite calm, are you?

I have a hankering to do some deep cleaning. I often get that when I'm putting away Christmas things and rearranging the house. My first intention is to go through the accumulation of Christmas things. I did that a few years ago, but it's time once again to sort out what still matters and what I feel free to discard or give away.

I wish you peace--and joy--as you go through these items from loved ones. Grace for the day.

    1. Thank You Brenda - I am calm and I do tend to be a pretty laid back person. I have my moments though - and right now I am a bit overwhelmed.
