All because of Hulu

We had been having a hard time getting on Hulu. All other streaming worked just fine. While streaming we would freeze and it took a long time to load. Time for a new Wifi router.

I bought one.

I had to download a stupid app on my phone. (as if I need more apps) I could not find a way around it. I haphazardly installed it, partially. It kept displaying that my wifi was not supported.

I put the old router back on. It was getting late. I was hungry and losing patience.

Then I get the bright idea, that maybe we need a new modem as well.

It's been 5 years.

I get the modem from our internet provider

I install it - everything works except for our landline phone.

The husband double checks me.

The phone still doesn't work.

I give up!

I called out the Nerds on Call. I've never had to do that before but I think the problem-solving part of my brain has worn out.

Nerds on Call came.

Millennial Gabriel was nice and didn't talk down to the baby boomers.

Phone line in the wrong port. Dumb!

I blame it on the husband afterall he double-checked me.

The app he said I didn't need so he went in another way to fully install the wifi.

The phone works.

The wifi works

The modem works

Hulu works.

A couple days later, I was trying to print something and it donned on me I had forgotten to update my wireless printer to the wifi. It said it was installed and active, but wouldn't print.

Oh Lord, not again...

Decided to move the printer closer to the computer and hook it up to the ethernet cable instead of the wireless/wifi.

It works!

I thought technology was supposed to make my life easier.

  1. Well done you! My opinion is technology has made all our lives miserable! *lol* And expensive. Yeah, I enjoy it too but this is why when we have a situation like y'alls, I call our local "geeks" which happen to be our telephone company. I let them have the headaches. I can't take it anymore. Got enough to "worry" about. Glad it all worked out for ya.
BTW, so sorry to hear y'all got stuck with the same of Gov. Guess you knew the fix was in. It breaks my heart though. I was hoping that situation would improve.
    Blessings.

  2. LOL, I have many of the same problems. Most of the time I just wait until youngest DS gets home to fix it for me. However the last two wireless printers we have had I managed to install them myself. Gave me a big pat on the back for doing so.

I do need to install it on the old desktop that I use in the sewing/craft room, but I will wait a bit longer on that one.

    God bless.

  4. I had to do that to my moms printer a while back. Not sure what she was doing but could not keep it on the Wifi. I would fix it and then get the call again, not working. I gave up and ordered a cable long enough to reach her printer. She was also convinced that it would not work properly if she put more than one sheet of paper at a time in it...Funny worked for me though. Never could convince her otherwise.
