2 chairs and a lot of wind

Finally I added the other chair to the rest of the Fam...on the front patio.
The newly completed chair is next to to window. I may go over the others just so they all have the same sheen.

I'm pleased.

Here's my little chair that used to be an end table.

It isn't perfect - it's fine for it's purpose and that is to hold a pot of flowers.

I gave it a matching pot -

I bought some petunias that I will hopefully plant this afternoon, once the heavy wind dies down. The wind is so bad, we can't even work outside. Everything is blowing around - If it isn't tied down, it will blow away. My back patio is a mess from all the wind driven debris.

I just loves these pansies.

I moved them from the front yard to the back where they get more sun.
I will move them back to the front in October along with the Mums for that Fall/Halloween look.

Wind was blowing down signs, knocking over garden stakes.

I am forced inside today. It's a beautiful sunny day - just very bad wind. Yeah I probably should be inside -  There are chores I have neglected this week. You know, how you get into a groove? I was in that groove and just didn't want to even stop to eat let alone, do housework chores.

I've already gone to the market this am - for bread, milk, lettuce, onions, red and green bell peppers, and butter. And yes, I got only what was on my list.

Now, how do I do that successfully?  I am DETERMINED.

I walk in, keep my eyes on the prize -
I don't allow my eyes to wander.
I get in and I get out asap.
You have to have a list.

It's simple. You have to be DISCIPLINED.
Oh and leave the husband at home!

  4. What fun projects! I love the chairs, and the fun one for the pot of flowers is so cute!! I love eclectic colorful things for the yard. I used to be more creative like that, but have gotten out of my "groove" lately it seems. I'm trying to stir up some inspiration to do more now that I've planted a butterfly garden. I want to make it more interesting...I have ideas, just don't know how to do them. I need a partner in creativity. Too bad you live so far away!! Thank your for sharing your fun projects with us. I understand about the indoor chores...mine never get done. But I'm trying, really I am. Have a blessed weekend.

    1. I'd love a butterfly and bee Garden as well. I have them already but I want more. I too, enjoy eclectic décor both inside and out. My philosophy is, if I like an item, I pretty much will use it.

  6. Debby, your chairs look great. They are what I've been wanting for my front porch. Your whimsical chair is delightful, and I think a pot of flowers on there will look nice.
hmmmmm, you had lots of wind? We didn't have wind yesterday. I was out there all day weedeating the lawn, raking the planter, cleaning, and bagging. I couldn't move my arms when finished, and was exhausted. But yard is in tip top shape now. Your biscuit sign in cute. It adds something to that area. Have a good weekend. It's supposed to be sunny today. : )

    1. The wind was so fierce we had to stay inside. It was making a total mess of my backyard.

  7. Hi Debby, I'm finally stopping by, partly to say thank you for visiting me at Marmelade Gypsy and partly to ogle your beautiful patio! I really love the chair/plant stand -- so colorful and it's great with the matching pot. I could imagine spending many happy hours out there with a good book! I need to pot my pansies today -- they've been living too long in their little bins from the store and ready to spread their wings. I saw another painted furniture piece as I was looking at the posts on your front page -- I must explore! Happy weekend!
