Flowers, bikes, and a movie

It's funny how sunflowers follow the sun rotation.

They're getting top-heavy and drooping.

The lily pad blossoms.

They look almost artificial.

I talked to Foodie yesterday - he is purchasing an e-commuter bike. It will be delivered to our house.

Foodie doesn't drive a car - he doesn't want one - never has.

He always lives close to his work - in the bay area, he took the train or other public transportation or used a bike along with it.

He's just starting to feel the ravages of time on his body and needs a bit more help. He rides 4 miles one way - rain or shine.

This morning I went over and dropped off a get-well card for Navy and a few little things I know he likes to eat - He showed me the blisters which are spreading to under his arm - he did say last night was his worst night and that he is feeling a little better today.

I'm really getting sick of HOT weather. Is anybody with me on that?

Usually, it is about this time, I am ready for my favorite season - Autumn. I can't really complain because we have had a cooler than usual summer this year. Like right now it is 92 - usually, we're in the 100's.

Something is off and I am hoping maybe this means we'll have an early start toward our rainy winter season. Keeping my fingers crossed - (well not really)

Tonight it is movie night with our friends - he has for us, Operation Finale.

American Historical Drama/Thriller follows the efforts of Israeli Mossad officers to capture former SS officer Adolf Eichmann in 1960.

  1. That looks like a good movie.
It has been really hot here, but is very nice today.
Glad Navy is feeling a bit better.
I have a friend and her husband who got electric bikes and love them. They ride them all over. Hope Foodie loves it too!

  3. What is the diagnosis for Navy? Your flowers are gorgeous! Those e-bikes are really something. Our next door neighbors have two of them, one for him and the other for his wife.

  4. Hope Navy is feeling better soon, it doesn't sound pleasant. And hopefully you're turning the corner to autumn. We're have cool temperatures at night and moderate temps during the day with a scorcher (for us) once a week or so.

  5. Dearest Debby,
Sunflowers are nice to observe, even with hanging heads.
Your son will sure love his electra bike and ride his short stretch to work. You did not mention if the terrain he rides, is uneven or flat.
That Trailer is sure not an American Historical Drama but very much a Jewish Historical Drama and kudos to those eleven Mossad agents for tracking and capturing him. https://mjhnyc.org/blog/complete-story-leading-capture-trial-adolf-eichman/

  6. Have seen the movie twice. Hope you have a fun movie night. Your lily pads are so pretty. I understand your son not wanting to drive, especially in the Bay area. I hope you're right about the rainy season - I do hope we get some rain this Fall. I always enjoy coming over and visiting your blog, Debby.
