Another Snowy Morning

Photo of Thursday's snow

Believe it or not, but we woke up this morning to more snow! This is a FIRST. Usually, we'll have 1 event every other year - now they're saying we might get more of this low-elevation snow come Sunday and Monday, plus, tomorrow we're having a "Hard Freeze." We've never had a hard freeze before.

I can't help but laugh...

From Thursday

Some people are starting to not like it so much now that the fun is over. Yep, it's getting to be a hassle for those having to shovel the driveway or walkway or that have to go to work. We're fortunate - we can stay inside and still enjoy it.

Flowers in my wheel barrel

I admit - I am looking forward to gardening.

So pretty to see the snow greeting us on the hill in our backyard this morning. It snowed till about 10am and then started to rain. By afternoon, the snow was gone.

The town was all over the place trying to figure out if they should send the kids to school or what. Finally, they did a late start.

Just yesterday late afternoon, the garbage disposal completed their pick up which was delayed Thursday and Friday.

The city just doesn't know how to respond. Should they cancel or not, when it comes to events and activities already on the calendar?

Yesterday we went to the movies - packed house at 12:15 pm. Only a few more days of showing so everyone is scrambling to get in to see it.

My husband grew up in Orange county and he remembers going to Calvary Chapel with his parents and out to Pirates Cove to watch the hippies get baptized in the pacific ocean.

I was up near San Francisco when this all started and definitely NOT a Christian, nor did I want to be.  I remember the Jesus Freaks, hitchhiking up the coast and on our beaches preaching. I remember some of my school acquaintances joined up. Back then, I was curious but just wasn't ready to go down that road. I was still in rebellion and believed I was "too cool" for that stuff.

Someone told me the movie is just here in California - so I don't know about that. It does seem to have limited appeal to those 65+

Anyway, I enjoyed it and the music, the times...took me back.

Take Care -

Debby

  7. That movie is not being shown here in Michigan. We are on tap for more snow on Friday. I would rather have that then the 2 ice storms we had recently. Enjoy your snow. Janice
