I passed!

My appointment was at 2:20pm and I was out by 2:39pm. I passed on the first test! I did miss two questions and the one I missed I knew it was wrong as soon as I chose it. You can only take a paper test once you have used the computer at least once.

When the computer told me

CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE PASSED

I wasn't expecting it -

I was giddy. I bounced over to the window - and excitedly told the guy, that I had passed. You know these DMV people - they are just there for their paycheck - they could care less if you passed or not. So he finished off the paperwork and sent me on my way without even so much as a "congratulations old lady!" No biggie.  I still walked out with the biggest grin on my face.

I feel like now, I have an open road before me...

That dumb exam was keeping me from doing things I like - instead, I studied and I was sick of studying.  I started making silly mistakes.

So I'm good till I am 75.

While driving home, I thought I needed to celebrate with a dinner out - but then again, things are so expensive and I am trying to cut down on how often we eat out. Anyway our wedding anniversary is the 16th. So instead I will be making homemade cream of potato soup and we'll stay home.

Keeps me humble that way. <smile>

  4. Congrats! Yes, eating out is expensive, and for us we find it hard to find something healthy.

  7. Congratulations "old lady"! GIGGLE I'm old too. Right behind ya in age. * YUM on the homemade potato soup! Oh my. On a cold day like now that would be just the ticket (pun intended). LOL * Keep it shiny side down (motorcycle term) and between the lines. * Blessings from Gawga. xx

  8. Congratulations on passing your test! I was just at the DMV a few weeks ago to renew my driver's license. I didn't have to take a test but I got a real-ID license, so I had to bring my birth certificate with me and marriage license. The clerk wasn't rude necessarily, but she certainly wasn't pleasant! Happy Anniversary on the 16th!

    1. I don't have a real ID - but will get one. I don't believe I need one if I have my military ID. I'll get it eventually. I wanted to concentrate on the exam. The "eye test" is a joke.

  9. Way to go fellow Northern Californian. Isn't it the greatest feeling to pass? I sure know how I feel. This "old" lady gets pretty shaky when thinking about tests.
Love your rainbow photos and the ending thought.

  10. Congratulations on passing your test. I had to renew this summer and got a real ID. I will have to take the test the next time or sooner. Homemade potato soup sounds good. Great for all the rain we will be getting.

    1. I took the vision test as well. It's a joke of a test. 3 lines - one with both eyes, one on the left and the other on the right.

  14. Congratulations! I'm amazed that after 70 you have to take a written driving exam every five years. That doesn't apply in the UK. All we have to do after 70 is renew our licence every three years and declare we're fit to drive (no doctor's note required and no vision test!).

  15. I'm so frustrated with my blog feed. You posted this on the 2nd and I just got notice of it now! :(
Anyway - hooray for you! And this gives me encouragement when I do it later this year.
I know you are so glad to have this done!
