Happy Easter

Happy Resurrection Day!

This is a photo of me taken on Easter Sunday in the 1950s at my grandparent's farm in East Tennessee. I distinctly remember the dress I was wearing that day - it was a light pink color with a white collar. I was three. My father had gifted me a stuffed bunny, which I still have today, although it's now old, discolored, and crunchy.

How's everyone been doing? I hope this beautiful day has blessed you all, whether you're busy or taking it easy. It's sunny, cool at 65 degrees, but the sunshine feels nice.

We attended church this morning, and after a little afternoon nap, we're up and about with nothing on the agenda for the rest of the day. I threw a chicken in the crockpot, which is starting to smell good.

The baby eaglets have hatched, and the community is thrilled.

Char's insurance paid out $6000, which pays off all of the car loan except $300. With the savings from canceling her insurance and gas for the car, and not having to make a payment she should be able to pay it off within a month. Unfortunately, no savings to buy another car. She will have to save once again.

  2. Such a cute photo of you. I should have shared the photo of me at about that age in an Easter dress squinting in the Florida sun. I forgot all about it. *brain fart* lol
I hope Char can buy another car or truck soon. Maybe a nice used one could be in order. We've gone that route many times. Go through a reputable dealer to get a warranty. That's what my Hubby always did.
Love and blessings on Resurrection Sunday! Keep looking up!

  4. That picture of you is adorable. I love that you still have the bunny.
Glad to hear the eaglets hatched.
I hope Char is able to get another vehicle without too long of a wait. Even used ones are so expensive though.

  6. I love that picture of you when you were three, Debby. Such a treasured photo, and isn't it something you remember the dress you were wearing, and that you still have the stuffed bunny your dad gave you. Too bad we can't see the colors we were wearing in the pictures from back then. The pink dress sounds really nice. It's been sunny here too, but still cold in the mornings and evenings.

    Happy April, Debby!

  8. I do love seeing photos from the past. Cute dress... I signed up for the A_Z challenge. I think it will be fun. Glad you had a nice quiet Easter and are feeling better.
California insurance is going to get really scary in the next few months. So glad her insurance paid out and her debt is pretty well gone.
    Hope your week goes well.
    Enjoy

  9. I like the old photo of you
At least the insurance paid off most of the car loan and in time she will save enough for another car
Hope you had a good Easter
