As for me and my house, I will serve the Lord" Joshua 24;15
Meanwhile over at my Genealogy Blog, we're on the letter B.
Dearest Debby,It is sad for having it written as: bastard grand child...Maybe it was a child out of love?!Hugs,Mariette
The 1880 census was the first one that listed everything from bastard children to the disabled, paupers, etc. It was just the times.
YIKES!!!
I know they would be so ashamed that future generations would find out. Back then, they kept secrets about such things.
So interesting and sad too. As you said, the kids were innocent and were hurt the most by it.The picture of your great grandma and her brother is so cute!
It was such a stigma back then that they tried to hide.
I really dislike that term. Hopefully we have outgrown that terminology.God bless.
I believe we have. I’ve not heard that term in multiple decades.
WOW! Sad to hear terms such as that. V.
