Still staring

Unwrapped the rope - cleaned off the dust and forgot about the 4 posts, making it even easier. I won't bother to take the lights off -

I figured out how many bags of dollhouse shingles I would need - each is one inch. Bag of 140 - I would need 2 bags. Then I would have to painstakingly glue every little piece on. I'd probably get high from all that glue. I decided not to do that - don't want to be breathing in the toxic glue.

So it will be the rocks- I also thought about going to Jo-Ann's fabric to check out leather-like fabric.

I don't want this to cost a fortune - that's the point of repurposing something. Lamps can be pretty pricey these days.

Navy texted me and said his shingles have spread even more - he can't get comfortable at night and the nerve pain is worse at night. He's miserable. I suggested he talk to his doctor but he says he will deal with it.

I remember back in the day, all of us mommies in the neighborhood wanted our kids to get chicken pox. This was around 1986 or so. We didn't talk about shingles back then. Oh well - we thought it was a good idea back then.

He texted me:

"I'll be alright Mom - I'm tough."

I'm DONE with hot weather. We've had 90-degree weather for a few days and now we're spoiled. The forecast is for 113+ I hope they are wrong!   I find I don't want to be outside - my garden is dried up - tomatoes still producing though. Sunflowers are still there but no new blooms. I don't care. I just want cooler weather. I'm bored with the hot weather. I want to open my windows at night - bring in the fresh air. My electric bill was the highest so far  - around $350 but that also includes water and garbage. My PGE for our natural gas was $74.

I have more energy in the cooler temps. I want to go camping when I can be sure it will be cool. I don't like sitting around a campsite all hot, dirty, and sweaty.

That's it for me. I have stripped my brain and there is nothing left to report on.

  1. I had my kids in the 80's too and I remember intentionally exposing my son so he would be done with the chicken pox. I hope that Navy is soon feeling better.

  3. Hope Navy gets well soon. Not fun having shingles. I've known a few people to get them.

  4. Oh, I can't wait to see what your lamp will look like. You have a much more creative mind than I do. I am sorry to hear about Navy's shingles. That is very painful. But yes, these young people are a lot tougher than we are. It still hurts, no matter what he says, however. I never had it, but my hubby did. He was miserable for weeks. OH, I know what you mean about the hot weather. We aren't as hot as you are, but it has been in high 90's with high humidity here for too long. I can't stand to be outside for even a few minutes. My little butterfly garden is drying up and not blooming so much anymore. Like you, I don't even care. I just want cooler weather to get here. It will come. We just have to be patient, and stay inside where it's cool until then. Have a blessed weekend.
