Welcome to Kitty's dollhouse

I'm done with the dresser drawer dollhouse for Lexi.

I was having a hard time, stopping. I kept wanting to do more -

I had to remind myself this was for a young 3-year-old.

I wanted to do books - but they were just too little.

As it is, if she is mouthy - she may need supervision.

The living room.

I had a blast with the fireplace

The sofa was made from very small wooden blocks chunky like the bed.

This sofa gave me so much grief.

Tree and some stickers.

I used a wooden cut-out tree and placed it in a lid of a jar -

more wooden blocks for presents.

I like this hobby and plan to make one for Myself, using itty bitty pieces, etc. I can glue them down which I couldn't do here because that would only frustrate a 3-year-old if she can't move things around.

I'm going to have to place it in the garage  - out of my sight. The more I stare at it, the more I want to do.

I might add a thin wooden panel for the front so she can close it up and she has more room to play when it is down.

  2. Dearest Debby,
How lucky Lexi is for receiving such a dollhouse!
You are quite an artist—that's what Pieter just said when I proudly showed it to him.
Well done and now you can do one to your own liking and more fixed with glue as you mention.
    Big hugs,
    Mariette

  3. It is AWESOME!!! You have such a talent for this. I always wanted a doolhouse. I am convinced you could make and sell these for quite a bit of money. You have a knack for knowing what to use to make tiny furnishings.

    1. I used to do that years ago - (not dollhouses just regular wood crafts) I don't know if I want to go down that path again. We'll see - Thanks for the compliment and encouragement

  6. That is just darling. She is going to love it. Two of my grandgirls loved miniature things. You need to make one for yourself for sure! xo Diana

  7. SHE IS GOING TO LOVE IT! Every little girl's dream. My mother had a huge dollhouse - quite professional with light and all - it can get expensive!

  8. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I want one too. I have a doll house, but yours looks so sweet and happy. It's perfect for a 3 year old...although I wonder about the logs in the fireplace going into her mouth...just a thought. That's always the concern with little ones...but maybe she is beyond that stage. I love the Kitty idea too. It's all so sweet. Yes, you need make one for you. This is adorable.

    1. The logs in the fireplace are hot glued inside. But just in case, I will let her mom know. I texted the photos of it to my son and Sara and both of them believe she will love it. My son said he hasn’t noticed her putting things in her mouth so I hope he’s right. I’m happy you like it.

  9. The dollhouse is adorable. You did a great job putting it all together. How I wish I had kept the dollhouse that grandpa made for my daughters. They have their own daughters now, and would have loved it. I would love one myself! haha I have another blog friend who does this for a hobby as well.
