The Unveilings - end tables, and some Fall Decor

I like the coffee table and how it turned out.
That is sunlight on the edge of the table...I thought it was scratched.
You can see just a little of the bubble damage on the right.

Today, in spite of everything going on, I kept myself busy - dusting and hauling out the Fall decor. I'm not in the mood for too much. I think this will be a minimal year for the Fall decor.

My daughter-in-law gave me these towels that I turned into a pillow. She knows I love Ravens - We have a lot of Ravens in our area. I see them and hear them daily. They "play" with Laydee.

The other side of the pillow.

(Nevermore)

I still have the dining area, kitchen, and entryway - to decorate, but less it more, for this year.

I still have some decor to put out and I need to fill that empty space on the wall.
I do not like empty wall space!

To all you Floridians: My parents used to spend time in their RV in Pensacola and Lake Okeechobee. They brought me back a Burlwood clock. At first, I didn't like it but it has been a part of my living room decor since the late 1980's. My husband recently dropped it and chipped it. Fortunately, he is a good "fixer" knowing that I cherish all the treasures I have been given from my family.

Here are the end tables - the top is so black you can hardly see the damage on the top. I used dollar tree placemats on the table.

On the bookshelf, you are seeing my sister's lighted, Munster Family Hawthorn village that I inherited after her death. Frankly, I wanted to sell it - but my husband loved it because he was a big Munster fan. I remember enjoying the TV show back in the day...along with the original Addams Family.

So he gets the joy of putting up each year.
The intricate detail is amazing...and fun to look at.

The styrofoam it is packed in is hard to get off. I can see a little piece of it...

All 4 sides are detailed.

This lights up and plays the theme song to the Munsters.

There are more pieces but these are my favorites.

They are still in their original containers so they could one day be sold if I wanted to or needed the money. The whole set could go as high as $800+ on eBay. Each piece depends on condition - anywhere from $45 to 85. The Munster House goes for $129 - There are accessories that also are quite expensive.

Since my boys are adults and I have no grandchildren, I'm not that big on Halloween. I just put up my stuff that I have had for ages. I have a cardboard skeleton that my mom used to put up on the front door. It used to scare me - I'm trying to find a place for it, inside and I want to protect it in a frame.

I also have some outside pumpkins - I've been using them since my kids were young...

Finally, I do want to remind everyone to continue to pray for the hostages and for Israel.

Also, a blogger friend has a son in the US Military in the Middle East right now.

  1. I think the table looks great! If you don't point out the bubble, no one will notice. I also love that raven pillow. A great idea to make from the towels!
I like the Munsters too. I'm not a Halloween fan, but they are fun!

  2. I agree with Mari about the tables. No one would notice the flaw, and I bet eventually you'll start to look past it too.

  4. Debby, the tables turned out great! You can really see the detail in the wood in that first photo. I like the black and white table runner too, it adds a little something. There is a lot of space underneath to put things, on the end tables as well. I love the home sweet home sign, and that is the color of Nel's walls at her new house. And the beautiful Cross. Everything looks so nice, and you did a wonderful job on the tables. Now, you can relax and enjoy your new space. ; )

  7. Everything looks so beautiful. I don't like empty wall space either. What a great job you did. I'm not much of a Halloween fan either and since both my boys have no children I've donated all my Halloween stuff years ago.
    I pray for Israel everyday.

  11. Oh, your tables turned out perfect! They go so well with your other furniture and decor! You did good! Also, I think the Munster village is cool. Glad you kept it. It's very unique! The clock on the wall is actually made from a "Bald Cypress" tree in Florida. They have roots that grow up above the ground called "knees" because they look like knees. Anyway, the shape of cypress tree trunks is very interesting and they make unique slabs of wood, which become clocks on walls for people who have ever been a tourist in Florida. We used to have one, and I don't know what happened to it. We've moved so often that I think it might have gotten broken along the way and so it went bye-bye. Yours is very pretty, and because it has sentimental value, it should be treasured!! I love it. I hope you have a lovely weekend. I am so happy to see your pretty tables!
