Da Bears

The big happening at my house and neighborhood is the bears.

They come right up to the front door.

This is just a couple houses from me.

The other night, I let Laydee out to potty before bed, and she ran after something on the other side of the picket fence. I just thought it was a cat.

It might have been a bear.

If only she could tell me.

Another neighbor a few houses down posted this.

I pray the bear gets to where he needs to go -
he may need some help from the wild animal control.

    1. Did you know the bears don't like taste of humans? Bears now days are more a nuisance than anything.

  2. Definitely think the bear needs some help finding it's way.

    God bless.

  3. Hi! I'm glad to see you are blogging again. I would love to see a bear, but not at my house or on my street! I hope he finds a better home.

  4. This is really frightening. Certainly different from the squirrels we get over here.

    God bless.

    1. Actually not as frightening as you would think. We do get bear within our town but this year is because of the fires - we're getting more. They are looking for a place to rest their weary heads. Poor babies. They are not aggressive bears - we just have to be aware of our surroundings and keep the pets inside at night, which we do anyway.

  5. Poor guy , may hes hungry...down here in SC they are building so much that foxes and deer and bears are all over the place... the builders are killing their homes and they have no where to go. Its kind of heartbreaking to me,

  6. I think it would be really cool to have bears visit, they are beautiful creatures...except they are bears, and maybe more than a little scary.

    1. They are not grizzly bears. There hasn't been a black/brown bear attack in California in decades.

  7. Oh, my, on the bears! Yeah, y'all need help with the wild animal control. Hope they stay far away from people and pets. Stay safe.
    Blessings. xx

    1. I'm enjoying it. These are not grizzly bears - they do not attack, unless provoked. There hasn't been a deadly bear attack in decades. They are pretty much, just passing through.

  8. I like the look of the bears but wouldn't want to be up close and personal with them

    1. The closest I’ve been to a bear was once we were camping at Sequoia National Park and one was sniffing around our tent. I could actually see him push the tent. I should tell that story one day. I’ve had 2 other encounters with bears.

  9. My earliest memories of bears in the wild was when I was about 3 or 4 camping at the Hirtz Bay campground at Lake Shasta. My dad would wake me up and I would be standing in the tent doorway watching the bears come down the road knocking over the trash cans (back then it was the round metal cans just like at home). You would hear the bang bang as they went from can to can looking for food then off to the next. I think that is why I have never had a fear of camping in bear country.
