October 1

I love flipping over the calendar to reveal the new month of - October.

Even though it still feels like summer. It's been in the low 90's but the saving grace is that the early mornings and evenings are cool.

This is a photo from last year -

the trees have not changed yet.

We should start seeing some change by mid to late October.

Until then I have to fake it - bring in the Fall wreaths, and garland.

I made this a few years ago - one of my dollar-tree crafts by turning over a wine glass and painting it. Simple.

I cleaned out my garden window in the kitchen yesterday.

Tomorrow or sometime this weekend, I want to haul out my Fall decorations.

I keep procrastinating because it doesn't feel like Fall.

Washed the window, inside and outside.

Boy, they were so dirty from the summer of smoke.

Tomorrow before I haul out my stuff - I want to go to the Manton Apple Festival.

They were shut down last year. This is my go-to place for ushering in the Fall. Apple pie-eating contests, and many vendors to shop.

They will host a Fiddlers contest.

I will have a piece of homemade apple pie and then call it a day. Every other year the weather is cool - sometimes it has even threatened to rain. We'll go when they open, so I can get in that "coolness." I am sick of HOT weather.

  1. Happy October! It's beautiful here - 80 degrees with a breeze. That's much warmer than usual. I'm loving it.

    1. I’d settle for 80. Perfect for me would be 75.

  2. Apple pie eating contest sounds good to me. Who cares if I win. I'll just enjoy the pie. I'm not much of a decorator. Maybe I need to get a bit more organized. My driveway is decked out in wildflowers and I am certainly enjoying them.

  3. Lovely decorations. I also decorated for Fall today but it feels more like late Summer. This heat & humidity can just move on. *lol*
    Blessings. xx

    1. We are starting to see some signs that we may be cooling down, this week. This might be it...although I have said that before, only to have summer reappear.

  5. It has been cooling off here in the evenings which is lovely. Daytime temperatures have been higher than normal for this time of year, but we will take it. Hope you had fun at the festival.

    God bless.
