A Creepy Crawly Thing

You know I can take spiders but a millipede - no way. Especially when there are dozens of them all around your campsite. This one was found in Foodie's tent. Apparently he slept with one inside his tent all night.

They said the area they were at, had them all over the place.
Remind me NOT to go there camping.

Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Another crazy little squirrel at the Veterans Home. He was swinging that bird feeder - it was going round and round...and his cheeks were full with birdseed.

Today I went to the store for just milk and cereal. I didn't look around. I just went in and got what I needed and left.

We drove over to Home Depot to get some wood putty, and some redwood stain. We bought, a small hose to add 6 more feet to my garden hose. They didn't have the redwood stain. So we drove over to our local Walmart. They sell the same Glidden Redwood stain. They have minimized the paint department there - so they didn't have it. I checked online and Walmart does have it - only 2 left at another Walmart that is 13 miles away.

So I bought it and am waiting till its time to pick it up.

Remember when I told you all about contacting some 3rd cousins on Ancestry about sending them photos? I finally received a response from a male 3rd cousin who is the youngest. (Age 60) He said he would love to have them. I'm thrilled. He lives in Virginia not far from where these family members first started out.

So I start looking for where I put them all and I CAN'T FIND THEM. I have no idea where I put them. They are in this house somewhere. I could hardly sleep last night, being so mad at myself. Here I get this guy all excited and I can't (literally) deliver.

I do have them saved on my computer.

But while in the back room, I did find some letters about his side of the family - that were of importance just for family history.
Really interesting stuff.  So I have that and a few more things.

I can just send him what I have by email - until I find them.
I hope that will work for him.

I have just drawn a BLANK. My husband is sure that I just placed them somewhere, "safe", I'm afraid while cleaning and throwing stuff out that I might have accidently thrown them out.

No I wouldn't do that - or else I am cracking up.

I haven't done anything this dumb in a while..at least that's my story and I am sticking to it.

  1. Oh, I hate it when I do things like that, and I do do things like that occasionally....LOL. Maybe even more than occasionally! LOL. At least you saved them in the computer, right? So forward them to him and he can print his own. That should work. That's what I'd prefer anyway if it were me. He can save them to a file in his computer. Anyway, it will be fine. Glad you found the redwood stain. Crazy that stores just don't have everything anymore. Frustrating too. Glad you found it anyway. Okay, millipedes...yeah, I wouldn't want to sleep with them either. No thank you. LOL. creepy crawly things. yuck. LOL. Have a great weekend. I'll try not to dream about those things now...

  2. Oh I've come across those centipedes before and yes, the are very creepy.
Many times I've put something in a 'safe' place. I'm sure the pictures will turn up.

  3. I don't like those millipedes either. I spent all day looking for a box of a dozen golf balls I bought last month. I'm sure I didn't throw them away either. Could I...nah.

  5. Oh, doesn't that just make you crazy? I've done similar things and I just know the item is somewhere in the house. I'm happy someone wants them.
    Yuck on the millipede!

  6. It's so frustrating when you put something somewhere "safe" and now you can't find it! Millipedes creep me out along with centipedes and silverfish! UGH!

  7. Dearest Debby,
Oh my, knowing that feeling too well!
We're aging; let's face it and we place things in a safe place and don't recall WHERE. Don't lose any sleep over it as no doubt it will show up.
Glad you found those letters and also great to know that someone is interested!
Those millipedes are not scary. Had to rescue a big frog at night and a blue tailed skink, he/she was hard to catch. Used a pillow case that was ready for the laundry and it worked. Set it free over the bridge into the wood garden. The frog around 3:00 AM I let out from the veranda door... no ambition to go out in the dark on wet grass.
My back is not yet acting normal but hoping soon it will. Pieter got me a Biofreeze pad, it is soothing some.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Oh we those those skinks here too. WE have many frogs in our backyard due to the pond.

Sorry about your back. I know, backaches can really put you down. Glad Pieter found something that works. I'll have to check into a Biofreeze pad.

  9. Oh no! I hope that you find the items set aside for your cousin. Now tell me, how did you manage to go into the grocery market and only purchase what you went in there for? I can go in there with the intent to only purchase a single item and still come out with 3 shopping bags.

    1. Honestly it takes discipline. I told myself, to only get what was on my list - I went in with ATTITUDE. lol

  10. I had put my original birth certificate in a safe place in my house and have yet to find it. I needed it for a change in company ownership a few years ago and actually had to order a certified copy from the county I was born in because I could not find the original, yet I know it is somewhere here in the house.
