Odds and Ends

Here is a photo of the loveseat and sofa from the store.

My old sofa is a camel beige - so I will have to change out my lamps that will not go with the sofa.  The lamps, I had modified them was too cheap to purchase a new lamp to match my old sofa - with a different shade which is a darker parchment look - then I wrapped the base with a thick hemp rope. Nice lamps are expensive nowadays.

Now I plan to spray paint the hardware, black - or maybe chrome to match the buttons on the sofa - I'll have to stare at it...then purchase new lamp shades, and then for the base, I'm thinking to wrap the base in a thin MFD wood, that I will glue into a square and then painting it either black or probably gray.

My curtains are the black and white buffalo check -

All this is in my mind of course - I will have to sit and look at the lamps with the sofa for a few days before I make the final decision.

EVENTUALLY, I will purchase new lamps. Earlier this year (or it could have been last year) I had purchased new lamps then I canceled soon after I placed the order, when I found out they would be coming from China - and it was during the shipping backlog. I didn't want to wait.

Anyway, I'll make it work and gives me something to do.

Stopped by Navy's home after Olive Garden.

Ed and his baby brother, Harry are doing great!

Our dinner out was tasty - I had chicken alfredo. I brought half of it home due to the generous portion sizes. We shared Tiramisu for our dessert.

Another cooler day for us - 92. We're going to take Laydee to the river to swim in a bit.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday

  3. Olive Garden Chicken Alfredo is my favorite dish! Haven't been there in so long. Your new sofa and love seat are nice. It's always fun to get new furniture in the house. Gives everything a whole new look. Been wanting a new dining table. Yes, a little cooler next week. Have a peaceful Sunday.

  5. Your sofa and love seat are lovely, and in such good taste. The grey neutral will look nice with any other color, and I love the rich looking rivets. I ordered and immediatly cancelled a few things during the great Chinese travel backlog!

  7. The new furniture is really gorgeous. I am sure you will be able to come up with a lamp redo. You are very good at that.

    God bless.

  8. I went with a gray couch myself when I replaced mine a year ago. My previous couch that I loved was more of a shabby chic look pale cream with pale pink rose pattern. I loved that couch and chair set but wore the fabric until it tore. I have such a hard time with finding lamps I like because I really don't like lamps that much. Your redecorating the lamp reminded me of a blue lamp I had that went with my dark blue couch I previouly had. I painted it a light green that went with the new rose couch so I wouldnt have to lamp shop.
