The pets via the watercolor app.

This is Susie - my cat. I love cats but this one is very special to me

 and she knows it.

Here's the dog - Laydee.

What a lover!

She does like to act tough - especially when people walk outside our house. She barks and growls and acts like she is vicious, all the while, wagging her tail.

This is Daisey Mae - I rescued her from the shelter after seeing her photo on Facebook. She only had a day left before she was to be put down. I saw those warm eyes and I called them first - she was a senior dog - around 8-10 years old. It was love at first sight.

We were blessed to have her for 2 years - woke up one morning and she was paralyzed. Lost control of her bladder - Here she was one day, fine - and the next day, we were putting her to sleep.

I missed her so much that I went out and picked out Susie.

Laydee came to us 6 months later.

The Happiest Dog in the World.

Sport.

This dog was my baby. Half border collie and springer spaniel.

He loved running and walking with us when we used to walk the horses up at the horse sanctuary.

In this photo, I captured his smile - as he was running toward me.

The lamps are coming along. I thought I would be done by Friday but I got a little sidetracked. (you don't ever do that, do you?)

I am looking forward to the Fall and look for it everywhere, but I haven't seen those subtle little signs yet. I am dreading my electric bill this month.

103 today - the 10-day forecast does show low 100s to H90 which in a way, does look like Autumn is trying to break through.

So while my mind wanders to cooler days and chilly evenings, I do think of you all and hope you are well.

  1. Daisey May was especially lucky to have been rescue by you. I suspect it was difficult when she fell ill so quickly but she had two wonderful years she would have not otherwise had.
Our pets sure leave their paw prints on our hearts. They are all special in their own ways.

  2. Such beautiful pets you have, and I love the watercolor pictures! Really special. Wonderful stories of each one. I do hope autumn is on its way to you and also to us. I am SO ready for some cooler temps and less humidity. But we are getting some much needed rain finally so I won't complain. Our pond is filling back up and that is a good thing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and that fall will truly be headed your way soon. God bless...

  3. Dearest Debby,
Guess it is only us, the true animal lovers, that read so much from a pet's eyes! They do convey their story and often a sad one.
So glad that Daisey Mae ended up living with you; she died having known true human love!
And those grand kitties, they're so cute as well and hopefully now have become sweet brothers by adoption.
Hugs, from the heavy rain and thunder in Georgia.
Just grabbed some veggies for supper after coming out of Mass and got soaking wet... Haha! No escape from this forever lasting wet monsoon. Tired of not being able to plan or do anything!
