Getting my house in order

Tehama County Ranch Land

Dang, it looks like I will be scheduled for the rotator Cup Surgery the 2nd or 3rd week of November. He said he would call me sometime this weekend. My surgeon who I will now refer to him as Cowboy owns a working ranch in Red Bluff. He comes highly recommended and I trust him.

High-grade thickness tearing of the supraspinatus tendon. Full-thickness perforations of the distal subscapularis tendon. Moderate arthropathy with capsular thickening and minimal synovitis. (Minimal - I like that)

In simple terms, I have a spur that he will have to shave down, also my clavicle needs to be shaved. There is fluid where there shouldn't be and then there is the tear.

It all sounds so painful.

I have 2 months to clean my carpet and get the house sparkling clean so I won't sit around, depressed at the dust and dirt and clutter. I want to defrost our garage freezer and then start making freezer meals.

I am not looking forward to this. Cowboy told me I will be swimming by summer. There's my motivation.  Okay, so I am going to be "out of order" for the rest of this year and the first part of 2022.

I can do this, right?

The cataract surgery is scheduled for Oct 26 and Nov 9.

At least while being laid up, I'll be able to read again.

  1. Hey, you can do this! Good idea to get all that work done before the surgery. I pray it all goes as planned and you're right as rain again. You'll have a really nice Christmas this way too. No pain.
Sending prayers for a quick healing.
    Blessings.

  2. You can do this. One day at a time, following PT orders and you will be swimming by next summer.

    God bless.

  3. Yeah sounds painful but it will be ok , mum had both shoulders replaced and she coped but then mum had a high pain threshold, unlike me who has a super low pain threshold..

  4. I had rotator cuff surgery about 11 or 12 years ago. Right shoulder. My advise is if you do not currently sleep on your back try to get used to it before hand. I had the worse time trying to sleep because I am not a back sleeper and that is the only position I could sleep when I had the arm contraption (arm sling that velcroed to a foam block around my waist) that I had to wear for the first month. I also spent the first week wearing a snap down front robe and no underpants because they were just too darn hard to pull back up after visiting the bathroom.

  5. Dusting is one of least favorite house chores. I hope all goes well with your
    surgeries, Debby. Take care.
