This was Downtown.
Poor baby! The bear was more afraid of the humans. All you do is phone it in and they come out to safely and humanely capture it and relocate him.
This time of the year is when they are out at night wandering for food and water.
I finally captured this photo out my kitchen window. Funny every time I have tried to get my phone to snap a photo, they leave.
First Snow on Mt Shasta of the season.
This would be the first visible sign, that Autumn is on its way.
I'm hoping to drive up to the mountain tomorrow.
This afternoon, Laydee has her weight check. I think she is looking good - I'd be surprised if she hasn't lost at least a pound. If not, then we may have to have her on prescription dog food from the Vet - our pet insurance will reimburse us if it is prescribed by the vet and we get it from the vet.
She no longer limps - she's active and no doubt the swimming helps. Even her anxiety has improved.
Attended a women's pot-luck yesterday at lunch.
The food was incredible.
The husband worked a 4-hour shift - 3-7 pm. That was fine.
Navy has his birthday this coming Sunday but he is doing something with his wife in San Francisco - so I have to figure out what to do. We've never been big birthday people. Usually, we acknowledge it of course with a gift certificate and a card. Nothing expensive. Occasionally we might have a family dinner but that doesn't always work out when they have other plans with friends and such.
Both sons are not sweet eaters - a gift certificate to a steak house or burger place is always welcomed. Navy has asked me for some photos of his brother Michael - who passed away nearly 20 years ago. I thought he had some, but he only has a few. I could get some together for him.
Hope all is well with everybody.
I'm glad you're getting some moisture and some cooling weather. The mountain is lovely - no such view here on the flat prairie.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Navy!
I like prairies - I don't get to see them so often unless I travel.
DeleteOh, the last part...pictures of your son for for his brother...I love that idea. It will be difficult for you to do most likely, but it could be a very healing activity as well. I will pray for you as you go through those precious pictures and make copies for your son. Or scan them into your computer and then you can send them over to Walmart or someplace to have them printed...just a thought. Hey, your son Navy's birthday must be the same as mine...this coming Sunday the 25th! We will probably go out to eat with our sons after church, and anyone else who wants to tag along from church maybe. Not sure yet. Usually I get together with my sister at some point, but I haven't heard from her yet and I'm not sure when or if that will be. She lives 2 hours away. Oh, that bear is adorable, poor baby! I totally understand...where we used to live before this house we had bears in our yard constantly, mostly at night walking through on their way from point a to point b. Our yard was a part of their regular route. We had a trail cam to get pictures as they stopped by for a drink from the tiny little plastic pool we put in front of the camera. It was such fun. I am glad it is starting to cool down there for you. It is here too. Little by little. We don't have any mountains here with snow, but that's okay. Yours are beautiful! Enjoy your week and take care, and be bear aware!
ReplyDeleteYes, Navy's birthday is Sunday the 25th! So a big happy birthday to you.
DeleteThe bear is cute!
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like Fall is coming, ready or not.
Happy Birthday to Navy!
Yes it is and I am happy about that!
DeletePoor little guy!
ReplyDeleteI know...I just wish I could hug it but that probably wouldn't be wise.
DeleteOh poor little bear! I'm glad they were able to capture and relocate him/her! Glad you got some rain and yes, Fall is in the air! It was 57 degrees on my walk this morning! Happy Birthday to Navy! Pictures of his brother will be a nice gift!
ReplyDeleteRight now it is 81 and sunny. It will go back and forth like this for a few more weeks.
DeleteIt was starting to feel like spring but yesterday it has been cold and wet
ReplyDeleteyeah spring and fall are transitional months - they go every which way until they settle in right season.
DeleteWonderful photo outside your kitchen window!!
ReplyDeleteFirst snow already - wow.
Yep - I'm sure all high places around the country had a first snow. Anything over 8-9000 feet in elevation.
DeleteDearest Debby,
ReplyDeleteWe both have seen only ONCE a bear, crossing the road we were driving on, to work, to the mushroom farm here in the Dublin, Georgia area.
Again, driving all the way out to the West of Wyoming—no bears 😏
Those doves are such shy birds. We watch them from our bay window in the kitchen, while heaving breakfast. Love them though and also the sound they make—always recognizable.
You for sure will manage to put together some photos of Navy's brother Michael; any Mother will do that with love.
Hugs and happy upcoming weekend.
Mariette
Mount Shasta is so pretty with snow on it. I'll have to take a drive to the creek, and I can see it clearly in the distance. What a great photo that is out your kitchen window of the mourning dove. They are sweet birds for sure, and very special ones. Yes, a gift certificate at a steak house would be perfect. That was thoughtful of Navy to ask for photos of his brother. I wonder if he's working on a project of some kind?
